An employee was carrying laundry down to the basement when the stair railing gave way and she fell down 12 steps. She was hospitalized with a subdural hematoma, fractured left thumb, contused forehead, compression fracture to the C7 vertebra, fractured right humerus, abrasion to the buttock, and contused right thigh.
