Incident Narrative

An employee turned off an optimizing panel saw, went to the back of the machine, opened the blade compartment, and attempted to remove a piece of wood. The employee's right hand then came in contact with the still-rotating main blade, resulting in a partial amputation of the little finger between the first and second knuckle and lacerations to the right palm and thumb.
