Incident Narrative

The injured employee was working in the GE plant purging the gas in the building. Work in a 4-foot pit had just been completed and the diamond floor plating over the top of the pit was replaced incorrectly. As the injured employee was walking to check the valve, he fell through the floor plating over the pit. The injured employee sustained a right leg laceration on the corner of the plate.
