An employee was cleaning a filling machine when he observed defective caps locked in the supply channels to the capper. He put the capper in manual mode and manually moved the joint with his left hand as he tried to remove the crowns with his right hand. During this operation, one of his fingers entered the moving machine, severing his fingertip.
