Incident Narrative

While cutting lumber with a chop saw, an employee noticed a small block of wood was stuck near the point of operation. The employee released the button used to actuate the saw blade and attempted to remove the small block of wood. The blade had not stopped and caught the employee's gloved hand, amputating the left pinky finger.
