An employee was attempting to lubricate the chain and sprocket on a conveyor motor when he noticed dust and dirt behind the sprocket on the guard case. He wrapped a rag around his finger to wipe off the dirt. The rag and his right index finger were pulled into the sprocket, amputating his fingertip (no bone loss).
