Incident Narrative
An employee was removing Mylar coating from a stainless steel pipe. He was wearing cut resistant gloves at the time. He then placed the steel pipe on a lathe to sand the coating off the pipe. The rotating steel pipe caught his gloved right hand and pulled it in amputating the middle and ring fingers at the far distal joint.
