Incident Narrative

An employee was installing a rotor lock pin in a bearing housing when the magnets in the lifting system failed. The rotor lock pin then dropped into the bearing housing, pinching the employee's fingers between the flange of the pin and the housing. Two of his fingers were amputated to the first knuckle.
