Incident Narrative

A firefighter was cutting line with the crew around spot fires in very steep terrain. A burning log rolled on top of the firefighter pinning him to the burning ground. The firefighter could not remove the log and neither could a crew member who tried to assist. The firefighter suffered second degree burns to 23 percent of his back and third degree burns to seven percent of his right shoulder, chest, stomach and back of legs.
