Incident Narrative
An employee was using a fryer. Noticing that the oil level had exceeded the fill line on the fryer, the employee began removing oil with a paper soup cup, then disposing of it in a bucket. After removing several cups of oil, the employee poured cold water into the bucket. The oil reacted with the water and erupted, burning the employee's face, neck, chest, left arm, and left foot.
