Description

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 9)--The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Allied Products Division of Consolidated Cigar Corporation today urged consumers to immediately discontinue use of some potentially hazardous Rogers Butane Fuel Refills and to return them to the place of purchase for a replacement. The Company said the valves on some of the refills may be defective resulting in the possibility of butane leakage and fire. There have been some reports of injury, the Company said. Only refills identified with the words "New Acu-Klick Valve For Positive On/Off Filling Action" on the top of the refill can are involved. No other Rogers refill cans are involved. The Company said that this voluntary action is being taken to prevent purchase or use of remaining stocks of the "NEW ACU-KLICK VALVE" equipped refills, which may be defective.

Hazard

The refills may be defective resulting in the possibility of butane leakage and fire.

Incidents / Injuries

There have been some reports of injury, the Company said.

Remedy

Immediately discontinue use of some potentially hazardous Rogers Butane Fuel Refills and to return them to the place of purchase for a replacement.
