Description

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hunter Fan Co., of Memphis, Tenn., is voluntarily recalling about 100,000 humidifiers. Hazard

The motors in these humidifiers can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents / Injuries

Hunter Fan has received nine reports of the humidifiers' motors overheating, including one incident involving minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Remedy

Consumers should stop using these humidifiers and unplug them immediately. Call Hunter at any time to arrange for a free replacement part or refund.

Discount, hardware and lighting stores; wholesale clubs; home centers; catalogs; and various online stores sold these humidifiers nationwide from August 2000 through February 2002 for between $50 and $120.
