Description

The recalled sweatshirts were sold in navy and burgundy, and in youth sizes (S, M. L, and XL). The RN Number is 90614, which is located on the collar tag. "A.P.C.O." is a label stitched on the inside of the hood and "Artic Zone" is stitched on the outside of the sweatshirt.

Hazard

The hooded sweatshirts have drawstrings, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, the CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings of upper garments such as jackets and sweatshirts.

Incidents / Injuries

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Remedy

Consumers should remove the drawstring to eliminate the hazard. In addition, J.C. Penney will also notify all known purchasers by mail to remove the drawstring from the sweatshirt.
