Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2017-2024 Travato motorhomes. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit.
Remedy: Dealers will install a parking brake interlock module, and update the awning firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 4, 2024. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-574-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 176. This recall replaces and expands NHTSA Recall 22V-696. Motorhomes previously repaired under 22V-696 will need to have the new remedy completed.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Travato, 2021-2023 Solis, and 2022-2023 Ekko motorhomes, equipped with certain Cummins Onan QG 2800i, and Onan QG 2800i EVAP generator sets. The fuel hose between the fuel filter and Injection Pump Module (IPM) may not be properly secured, which can cause a gas leak.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel hose and clamps, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 2, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Solis, 2021-2023 Travato, and 2022-2023 Ekko motorhomes, equipped with certain Suburban Manufacturing Company (Suburban) SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops with part number 3032AST. The internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves may fracture and cause a gas leak.
Remedy: Winnebago will work with Suburban to repair the cooktop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 31, 2023. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Travato and 2021-2022 Boldt vehicles. The wire harness may have been built incorrectly, resulting in the loss of over-current protection.
Remedy: Owners are instructed to not drive their vehicle until the Volta Power System is disabled. Dealers will replace the harness and inspect the electrical connection, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 26, 2021. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 164.

SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER:RETRACTOR
Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Solis, Travato, and Ekko vehicles, equipped with GE-ES Double Flipseats. The seat belt retractors may lock up when the vehicle is on a slight incline. As such, these seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
Remedy: Winnebago will work with Freedman to notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat and repair, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 23, 2021. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-614-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885 or Freedman customer service at 1-800-443-4540.

The VIN is a RAM Promaster, but it is a Winnebago Travato 2022KL built on the Promaster chassis. Winnebago routed the electrical cables from the engine compartment to the Volta battery system through the passenger wheel well. When making a left turn, the tires rub on the cable and wear away the protective sheathing, leaving the wires exposed. This can cause a failure of the battery system, or worse, a fire. Mine is not an isolated incident, as many other Travato owners have reported this issue.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V696000 (Structure, Equipment) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the awning unintentionally extended. The contact stated that the awning had unfurled and one of the arms had sheared off from the mounting point on the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to a dealer however, it was not repaired due to the parts not being available. The contact received the notification one month after the failure had occurred. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES SINCE THE RV WAS PURCHASED 10 MONTHS AGO, I'VE HEARD A MOTOR SOUND WHILE I'M DRIVING. AFTER HEARING IT SEVERAL TIMES, I BELIEVE THAT THE SOUND COMES FROM THE CAREFREE AWNING, ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE VAN. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE AWNING IS TRYING TO EXTEND, THEN RETRACT, WHILE I'M DRIVING.

ON 2/20/21 I PURCHASED A 2021 WINNEBAGO TRAVATO FROM MIKE THOMPSON RV IN SANTA FE SPRINGS AS A GIFT TO MYSELF BEFORE GOING COMPLETELY BLIND FROM RETINITIS PIGMENTOSA (FINAL ROAD TRIPS). THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE DELIVERED TO MY PROPERTY IN IDYLLWILD, CA ON 2/24/21. THE EVENING OF 2/23/21 I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM [XXX] THE FINANCE MGR THAT THE GENERATOR IS BROKEN. I SAID THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS' IT'S BRAND NEW. THEY DELIVERED THE RV WITHOUT THE GENERATOR ON 2/24/21 AND THEIR DRIVER HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH THE RV ON ROUTE TO MY HOME ' THE DRIVER CONTACTED ME ON MY CELL PHONE DISGRUNTLED THAT HE WAS CAUGHT IN TRAFFIC. I SAID, 'YES IN CALIFORNIA DURING RUSH HOUR THERE IS OFTEN TRAFFIC.' HE HUNG UP ON ME. I ARRANGED FOR MY MAINTENANCE MAN TO MEET THE DRIVER AT THE LOCAL GAS STATION SO THE DRIVER COULD FOLLOW HIM TO MY PROPERTY. THE DRIVER ARRIVED AROUND 7:30PM. HE GOT OUT OF THE RV AND WHIPPED THE KEYS AT ME, WHICH I COULDN'T SEE BECAUSE NIGHT BLINDNESS IS A SYMPTOM OF R.P. MY MAINTENANCE MAN WITNESSED IT ALL. THE DRIVER RAN OFF DOWN THE STREET. I DIDN'T SIGN HIS PAPERWORK AFTER HE THREW THE KEYS AT ME. MY MAINTENANCE MAN CHECKED THE RV AND FOUND BODY DAMAGE AND THE INTERIOR COUCH MATTRESSES, ETC TIPPED OVER ON THE FLOOR. I TEXTED THE FINANCE MGR, [XXX], STATING WHAT HAPPENED (VEHICLE DAMAGE AND ASSAULT), AND SHE TEXTED BACK '...HE JUST THREW THE KEYS AT YOU...THAT'S NOT ASSAULT.'
