2001 NISSAN MAXIMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIR BAG SYSTEM ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE, TO FIX THE AIR BAG RECALL, ISSUE. WHEN HE RETURNED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE, THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE AIR BAG INFLATOR HAD BEEN REPLACED. HE FURTHER ADVISED THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY EVEN WITH THE NEW REPLACEMENT PART INSTALLED. BUT, FOR AN OUT-OF-POCKET FEE OF $100, HE WOULD HAVE HIS SHOP MECHANIC DO A COMPLETE INSPECTION OF THE SYSTEM AND DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAG SYSTEM CONTINUED TO BE DYSFUNCTIONAL AND WHY THE AIR BAG DASHBOARD LIGHTS CONTINUED TO FLASH. THE CONSUMER DECLINED THE ADDITIONAL WORK ON THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. WHEN THE CONSUMER ENTERED THE VEHICLE, HE FOUND 3 WIRES HANGING BELOW THE GLOVE BOX, IN PLAIN VIEW AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT STILL FLASHING. RECALL # 13V136000. *JB
