Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2012 Jeep Liberty and 2012-2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger vehicles. A component within the occupant restraint controller (ORC) may fail and prevent the active headrests from deploying in the event of a rear-end crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ORC as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 4, 2017. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is T56.

Always had Transmissions / power train problems with it until now my mechanic and his Transmissions specialist said that I need a new transmission. They and all other mechanics and people who owned these jeeps or known people who owned these jeeps said they have major Transmissions / power train problems that eventually require new Transmissions on short timings compared to all other vehicles.
Upon inspection, significant underbody rust
Everytime I get gas the full tank spits gas back at you which gets everywhere drips down the vehicle on to the ground. Very dangerous.
The airbag light came on and the computer indicated it's the clock spring. I know that this is a safety issue as I've had the same issue with a previous car in which it was recalled.
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the horn was pressed; however, the horn failed to function as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 169,000.
I currently own two of the same year vehicles. They BOTH have the same problem with the ECM. I have also spoken with multiple people who own Jeep vehicles @ the same year. We all seem to have; lifter, Rod knocks, oxygen sensors and ECM that have caused multiple other problems (and severe accidents) due to their malfunctioning. I have had both of my vehicles to licensed mechanics, who have advised me of the same problem. One of the 2011 Jeep Libertys have been owned by me since brand new, the other was bought used. PLEASE PLEASE help us out!!! I have spent so much money trying to repair these vehicles!!! THE ECM & OXYGEN SENSOR need to be recalled!!!

The driver side active head restraint system headrest deployed while at a stop light. The was no collision. The driver was knocked forward by the headrest in the head/neck resulting in injury. My 2011 Jeep Liberty sport on 06-27-21, was sitting in a Super market parking lot while shopping. I returned from shopping and noticed my - Rear back door glass was completely blown out,exploded. Was it a break-in situation ? Or what caused this ? I called the police to make a report. The policeman said to contact insur. for replacement of blown out glass, and he filed his report. THE AIR BAG DASH LIGHT HAS RECENTLY COME ON, AFTER THE MECHANIC TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO RESET IT THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE POPS UP. WHEN THE COMPUTER IS CONNECTED IT SHOWS THE ONLY AIRBAG AFFECTED IS THE ONE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A CRASH, MUCH LESS ANYTHING TO CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY SO IT IS THE ORIGINAL. IT STAYS ON CONSISTENTLY ANYTIME THE KEY IS IN THE ON/STARTED POSITION

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL TANK STOPPED MIDWAY INTO FILLING UP. AS A RESULT, THE FUEL SPILLED ONTO THE GROUND. THE FUEL NOZZLE SHUT OFF REPEATEDLY, WHICH THE CONTACT FELT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
DURING FILLING UP WITH GAS, WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND WITH ENGINE OFF, THE FUELING NOZZLE WILL CLICK OFF WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. HOWEVER, APPROXIMATELY 1 SECOND AFTER THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUEL SURGES BACK OUT ONTO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THE OPERATOR, AND THE GROUND. ESTIMATE ABOUT 1-2 CUPS OF FUEL. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER FUELING FAST OR SLOW. ! ASIDE FROM DAMAGING THE PAINT AND FINISH ON THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPLASHING ONTO THE OPERATOR CREATES A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION!
IF THE CAR IS STOPPED ON A HILL THE BRAKES WILL SEIZE UP. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS WILL STAY ON. IT TAKES ABOUT A DAY FOR THE BRAKES TO RELEASE. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AS WELL. IT HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES. THE SYSTEMS CAN ALSO BE RESET BY PULLING THE ABS FUSES. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE WHILE THE BRAKES ARE LOCKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

CURRENTLY MY 2011 JEEP LIBERTY (JET) IS BLOWING COLD AIR FROM THE VENTS ON THE DRIVER SIDE. BLOWING WARM AIR THROUGH THE VENTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NO HEAT AT ALL COMING OUT ON THE FLOOR NO MATTER WHAT DIAL I TURN IT TO, NO HEAT WHILE THE CAR IN SITTING OR IN MOTION. THIS BEGAN A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT'S GOTTEN WORST. WHEN FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, THE PUMP WILL STOP WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. THEN HOWEVER, THE TANK BURPS UP FUEL ALL OVER THE PLACE, AT LEAST A COUPLE CUPS WORTH. THIS MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FILL UP THE TANK ALL THE WAY, AND IF I DO THEN GASOLINE GETS SPILLED ALL OVER THE PLACE: THE GROUND, THE CAR BODY, AND ALL OVER THE TIRE. NOT SAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT BECAME DISTRACTED AND DROVE THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION. THE AIR BAGS ONLY DEPLOYED ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY STOPPED, NOT UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT' SON WAS ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR OBSERVATION, BUT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY MAJOR INJURIES. THE CONTACT HAD A CUT ON HER LEG THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOTALED AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. POLICE REPORT NUMBER: 192113977 WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,000.

THE REPAIR PERSON SAID THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LISTED AS A RECALL BECAUSE A CERTAIN FUSE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE PROBLEM. TAMIAMI TRL, FORT MYERS, FL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SKY SLIDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER NO LONGER SUPPLIED THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
