NAVISTAR HAS NOTIFIED NHTSA ABOUT A DEFECT IN CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 AND 2011 IC CE, HC, AND BE COMMERCIAL BUSES AND INTERNATIONAL 1300, 3200, 3300, 4100, 4200, 4300, 4400, AND MXT TRUCKS MANUFACTURED FROM NOVEMBER 19, 2003 THROUGH FEBRUARY 9, 2010. THE PARKING BRAKE MAY RELEASE IF THE BRAKE SYSTEM ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) SOFTWARE MISINTERPRETS INPUT SIGNALS GENERATED FROM CYCLING THE IGNITION SWITCH MORE THAN ONCE AT A SPECIFIC FREQUENCY.
Remedy: NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES BY REPROGRAMMING THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE SYSTEM ECU FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 14, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 1-260-461-1890.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 INTERNATIONAL CE BUS. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT MOVED THE VEHICLE FROM THE ROADWAY AND DISCOVERED A FUSE HAD FAILED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE FUSE AND WHEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE EXAMINED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 35,000.

FUEL THERMOSTAT ON VT365 ENGINE LOCATED ON FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY OVERHEATS, MELTING FUEL THERMOSTAT CASING. FUEL LEAKS PAST ELEMENTS INTO CASING AND ALLOWS FUEL UNDER PRESSURE TO SPRAY OUT THE CRACKS AND/OR TWO SMALL HOLES IN EXTERNAL SIDE OF THERMOSTAT UNIT, COVERING ENGINE WITH DIESEL FUEL. POTENTIAL FOR ENGINE FIRE. THIS WAS NOTED ON TWO SEPARATE UNITS. *TR
