Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 Infiniti M35 and M45 vehicles manufactured April 4, 2004, through October 5, 2010. Over time, the accelerator pedal sensor signal may deteriorate resulting in the output of an incorrect signal causing the engine to go into fail-safe (limp home) mode.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the accelerator pedal assembly and reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during November 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

I purchased a new 2008 Infiniti M-35 equipped with technology package that included navigation. My car has 74,000 miles and needs a map update. I tried to purchase from Infiniti the CD update in which I found out was discontinued in 2020. I was told to use my mobile device in which reminded Infiniti to do so would violate state law and creates a safety hazard. Considering 15 year parts availability the update should be available. I believe Infiniti should provide a navigation update to help insure safety before someone is killed.

INFINITI HAS QUOTED ME $3,250 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WHICH REQUIRES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE FRONT PASSENGER LOWER SEAT ASSEMBLY (1\2 OF A SEAT FOR $3,250 !!!). AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO INFINITI USA, AND THE PRESIDENT OF INFINITI WORLDWIDE - ROLAND KRGER, INFINIT HAS SAID NO TO PROVIDING ME ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. ALONG WITH THE NON FUNCTIONING AIR BAG, MY WELL CARED FOR CAR HAS RUST FORMING ON THE HEADER JUST ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD. I AM WRITING TO ADVISE ON THE FAULT DESIGN AND\OR MANUFACTURE OF THE OCS AND OF INFINITI'S UNWILLINGNESS TO PROVIDE A REASONABLY PRICED REPAIR. MY WIFE ALSO HAD A PASSENGER DROVE THE VEHICLE AND BOTH NOTICED IT ON A SEPARATE OCCASION. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND AM NOW CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY. DASHBOARD IS SHINY, STICKY & GUMMY IN A NUMBER OF AREAS. THE VEHICLE IS ONE OWNER (OWNED BY A RETIRED PERSON), HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT & DOES NOT SIT OUTSIDE IN THE ELEMENTS. IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED & THE DASH HAS NEVER HAD ANY SUBSTANCES (I.E., PROTECTANTS) APPLIED. THE LOCAL INFINITI DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSPECTED THE DASH & STATED THAT THE MATERIAL WAS BREAKING DOWN & THE DASH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. A CASE WAS INITIATED WITH INFINITI USA THAT RESULTED IN THE MANUFACTURER DECLINING TO ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY DUE TO THE VEHICLE NO LONGER BEING WITHIN THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY PERIOD. THE REPAIR HAS NOT YET BEEN COMPLETED DUE TO THE HIGH COST INVOLVED. *TR
2008 INFINITI M35. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE INTO LIMP MODE, PRIOR TO TAKING IT TO THE DEALER. AFTERWARDS, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. FROM A STANDING START, THE VEHICLE WOULD GET UP THE SPEED, THEN IT ABRUPTLY DROPPED DOWN TO A LOW SPEED CRAWL. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE REST OF THE WAY THE PEDAL MOVED ALL THE WAY TO THE FIREWALL WITHOUT OPPOSITION OR RESISTANCE THE FULL DISTANCE JUST AS IT SHOULD UNTIL THE PEDAL REACHED ITS MAXIMUM TRAVEL, BUT IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE IN THE ENGINE POWER OR SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAR TENDS TO DRIFT/TRAVEL/TRAMMEL WITH ROAD GROOVES/RUTS/DIPS ALL THE TIME. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. I'VE CHANGED THE TIRES A FEW TIMES TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS WITH ALL TIRE BRANDS I'VE TRIED. I BOUGHT MY 2008 INFINITI M35X NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 2008. FROM THE DAY I DROVE IT AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WAS PULLING ERRATICALLY SOMETIMES TO THE LEFT AND SOMETIMES TO THE RIGHT. THE ANGLE OF THE ROAD AND ROUGH ROAD SURFACES MADE IT WORSE. UPON TAKING THIS TO THE DEALER, THEY AGREED TO CHANGE THE TIRES (FROM GOODYEAR TO MICHELIN) THAT MADE IT SOMEWHAT BETTER BUT HAS NOT ELIMINATED IT. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR FOR 5 YEARS LIKE THIS, BUT NOW BELIEVE BASED ON MANY BLOGS ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS A MECHANICAL DEFECT AND INFINITI SHOULD BE FIXING THIS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI M35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD ABNORMALLY PULL TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT, DEPENDING ON THE LEVELING OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND A FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY DID NOT LOCATE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE OR THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,400.

THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY PULL, OR TURN, TO THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT EVEN ON LEVEL STRAIGHT ROADS. IT HAS ALMOST PULLED THE WHEEL OUT OF MY HANDS COMPLETELY, BECAUSE OF THE FORCE IN WHICH IT TURNS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT IS A PERFORMANCE VEHICLE AND THIS IS HOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HANDLE. AFTER OWNING A 1998 BMW M3 AND A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA SV WITH SPORT PACKAGE, I CAN SAY THIS IS THE ONLY CAR THAT HAS HANDLED LIKE THIS. THESE ARE THE SAME ROADS THAT I DROVE WITH BOTH THOSE PREVIOUS VEHICLES SO I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY THAT THIS IS NOT HOW A PERFORMANCE VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO HANDLE. MAKING RIGHT TURN TO PARK THE CAR IN A PARKING LOT WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE THROUGHOUT THE TURNING PROCESS. AS THE TURN WAS COMPLETED, VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD QUICKLY AND COLLIDED WITH A TREE. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. IT HAPPENED THIRD TIME. FIRST TWO TIMES, THE CAR ACCELERATED WHEN MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, BUT I COULD CONTROL IT. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR CHECK UP AND INSPECTION. AFTER CHECKING THE CAR, DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM AND DID NOT TAKE ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION EXCEPT FOR ADJUSTING THE IDLE TIME.
