Brake lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the visibility of the bus or fail to indicate to other drivers that the bus is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24508.

PARKING BRAKE
Defect Description
Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus CE SBUS school buses equipped with Intellipark Park Valve Modules (PVM). The rubber ball seal in the PVM may fracture and cause a leak, which can result in park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving.
Consequence
Park brake failure or unexpected park brake engagement while driving increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the Intellipark PVM, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 01, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24507.

STEERING
Defect Description
Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024 IC Bus CE school buses. The steering gear assemblies may have been assembled incorrectly with fewer recirculating balls than are required, which may result in a loss of steering control.
Consequence
A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the defective gears, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 30, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24504.
