The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed that the brake pads were experiencing abnormal wear resulting in reduced functionality; however, the dealer was unable to provide a cause for the failure; however, the dealer hypothesized a brake line or hose failure, structural fault, and/or aggressive driving as possible causes.
