I own a 2024 Honda HR-V. The vehicle developed a steering problem where the steering wheel becomes unusually stiff and difficult to control. Honda issued NHTSA Recall 24V-744 for defective steering gearbox components affecting 2023-2025 Honda HR-V vehicles. My vehicle was manufactured during the same production period referenced in the recall. However, my VIN is not included in the recall even though the symptoms match the defect described by Honda. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and indicated the steering system requires repair estimated at approximately $4,000. Because the defect matches the steering gearbox issue described in Recall 24V-744, I believe my vehicle may have the same safety defect but was excluded from the recall. This creates a potential safety risk because steering control can be affected while driving.

The contact stated that while the contact's daughter was driving at 42 mph with the cruise control engaged, the collision mitigation sensor independently activated. The contact's daughter noticed that the steering wheel had almost seized, and the vehicle's speed abruptly decreased. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Another vehicle was making a turn and crashed into the contact's vehicle. In addition, the "Brake" message was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact mentioned that the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. The contact's daughter was taken to the local medical center. The contact's daughter sustained muscle pain in the back, neck, both shoulders, both jaws, and severe headaches. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

I have had a Supplement Restraint Problem light on since I bought they vehicle. It was on and off intermittently for the past year or so, however now it will not go off. Upon inspection the wiring is damaged and there is not cover to the ground according to the honda mechanic that looked at my vehicle. I have not had any service work done in the area where the SRS box is located and they did not perform any further inspection on the system. Again, this was on when I bought my 2024 honda HR-V. The dealer was made aware and they advised me that it should be covered under warranty however nobody will fix the issue at this time. Please review and look into this issue as it has been noted in prior service bulletins for the SRS system light to have issues.

12/7/2025 at about 7:20pm and about 17518 miles: grandparent were driving home and brakes failed as grandpa was parking in the driveway. He said after applying the brakes the car keep rolling forward and hit the garage door then rolled backwards, brake did not stop backward movement for over a minute. No injuries. Inspection from insurance and collisions repair center found no cause for brake failure. 01/4/2026 at about 8:16pm and approximately 18122 miles: as my mom was approaching a main road with 55 mph traffic to turn left the brakes failed to bring the car to a complete stop at the intersection causing the car to roll into on coming traffic. The driver side wiper does not spray fluid through the top of the blade only the nozzles at the bottom spray deicer/fluid. On highway driving especially in frost freeze conditions this limits the drivers ability to see forward as road dirt and frost/ice are not able to be removed. That the fluid only comes out the bottom means that the part of the windshield the driver needs to see out of is not completely cleaned or de-iced limiting specifically the drivers vision to the front. This has caused multiple near misses on highway and around town driving especially at night.

AC System Failed. AC Will Not Turn On, Changed All Fuses Related To AC Related Issues, Still Wont Blow At All. Maybe Blower Motor Or Resistor Which Should Not Be Broken After Just 1 Year.
Two cracked have mysteriously appeared on my FRONT windshield. My vehicle was not involved in any accidents, nor have it been hit by any objects. The cracks are not on the outside, if you feel the windshield it is from the INSIDE, which indicates a factory defect since I'm the only driver of this vehicle, I can state this with 100% certainty. I purchased this vehicle brand new. It's barely one year since I've purchased it. 2024 Honda HR-V. I've seen 3 other Honda HR-V in my neighborhood with similar FRONT windshield cracks in the same area as mines. Their vehicles are similar models, except one is a sport HR-V. My vehicle has the check engine light on due to problems in the fuel tank emissions system. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer on more than 7 occasions and they have not provided a solution. The vehicle is expelling gases through the fuel tank cap and has an excessively bad smell of gasoline.

I have brought the vehicle into the dealership multiple times due to dangerous behavior involving the Honda Sensing system. The vehicle has attempted to steer out of lanes, and shown repeated safety warnings related to the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). Despite these serious issues, the dealership repeatedly tells me that “no codes were found” and refuses to provide full diagnostic records or confirmation that proper factory scan tools (HDS/i-HDS) were used. I suspect they may be clearing codes or failing to document the issues appropriately. The problem is intermittent but dangerous, and I am very concerned it may lead to a crash or serious injury. Honda has not resolved this, and I believe this is a widespread safety defect that deserves further investigation. Most recently, while driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly applied the brakes without any obstacle or warning, creating a highly dangerous situation. This incident was alarming and could have resulted in a serious accident.
Since that event, the vehicle has continued, from time to time, to display warning messages related to the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). These alerts occur sporadically and do not appear to be triggered by any identifiable driving condition. The dealership does not want to look at the car again for this problem and is trying to tell me I have to deal with Honda directly who is not escalating the issue even after multiple request as I fear for my safety and that of anyone in the vicinity of the vehicle.

While driving, the car did an automatic hard brake for no reason. Traffic was accelerating after being stopped at a red light. The car in front of me was not braking and was accelerating away from me when suddenly the car hard brakes with no warning beforehand. It braked hard enough to throw me forward and cause traffic behind me to have to hard brake in order to keep from rear-ending me. There was an on ramp coming in near me but again that traffic was not in my lane. Hello, My car has had an active recall since last year and several dealerships state they don’t have the part to repair. Including regal Honda in Lakeland, FL who I’ve asked to call me when the part becomes available. This car also has defects with the wired CarPlay which intermittently cuts out even after trying over Apple 10 cables. Also, I’ve had the steering wheel replaced due to the leather peeling after only several weeks of owning. To which the same issue has occurred. When the steering wheel was replaced in NJ they left a razor blade in my car which cut me and paid me $250 to be quiet essentially after 6 months of looking for support from them.

Have a recall for a gear box worm wheel, steering problem #24V-744. This goes back to Oct 24. I called 11/25 to the dealer called them again 12/5, said they have no replacement part, they may have it at the end of the year. Today 1/29/25 I called Honda Cust support 888 234-2138 they said they don’t have the parts? Manufact doesn’t have parts? I have been told each time I call , they don’t have the parts? A steering issue is serious, my question is why don’t they have the parts? Why is Honda sending out recall letters telling customers how to get this issue fixed if they can’t fix it!
