2015 HONDA GROM125 Recalls, Complaints & Safety

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Grom 125 motorcycles manufactured June 12, 2013, to September 8, 2015, and 2014-2015 NSS300 & NSS300A motorcycles manufactured June 18, 2013 to March 19, 2015. The resin bracket inside the fuel pump of the affected motorcycles may swell and cause the pump impeller to seize.

Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with one that uses a metal bracket internally, free of charge. The recall began October 2016. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KC3 and KC4. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-672. Some, but not all, motorcycles that were remedied under that campaign are affected by this recall as well and need to have the fuel pump replaced again.

Hello, My 2015 Grom has a recall and it was never done according to the Vin number. What can I do?

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure became a recurring failure and that the motorcycle would not restart as needed. The contact had the motorcycle towed to his residence. The contact had not taken the motorcycle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The motorcycle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V661000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that his motorcycle should have been included in the recall. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA GROM125. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE MOTORCYCLE TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN THE MOTORCYCLE ON BY DEPRESSING THE START BUTTON. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V661000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,300.
