The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the driver’s side front door panel became loosened due to failed adhesive exposing wiring in the door. The front door lights remained illuminated while the door was closed. The contact stated that the rear door failed ... to open however, the door ajar light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and tape was placed on the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the Keyless entry door panel and actuary for the rear door needed to be replaced. Picked up the new vehicle from the dealer in Michigan Feb 15th, Started to drive across country Feb 17th. I'm just south of Joliet Illinois [XXX] & [XXX] come together - cruising along on adaptive CC at 75 mph. all of a sudden Big rigs on both sides squeezing me, people dodging in & out - a real ... [XXX] situation! I jam on the gas, nothing - no response at all - - well - something - the [XXX] thing goes into limp mode - I'm slowing down - nothing i can do, as I try and get across 2 lanes of big rigs laying on their horns and squishing me. I get to the side of the road - still - 45 mph tops - and the check engine light is blinking. Pull off the freeway - get it into a parking lot - read the manual - it says let it cool down? I start it up - and the light went out - I drive it to the nearest Honda dealer. "Sorry - - but they say no codes were stored, and they have no idea what happened. Great - so???? I suspect the adaptive CC was trying to slow down - while the VCM was engaged - and the hard brakes followed by hard throttle just confused the computer? If so - that's a software fail and dangerous as [XXX]. I have since come to find out that many honda owners with the same drive trains are experiencing very similar instances, almost always when it is cold outside - on a long drive in the cold .
