VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialists (VCI) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ford F-550, 2014 E-350 and E-450, 2015 F-250 and F-450, 2016 E-450, 2017 E-350, F-450 and E-450, 2018 F-350, 2010 E-450, 2005-2006 E-450, 2009 E-450 and Chevrolet C4500-based Type I and Type III ambulances equipped with ASA Electronics Voyager monitors used to display the back-up camera image. The monitors may unexpectedly revert back to the factory default settings which may cause the camera image to be reversed.
Remedy: VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialists will work with ASA to notify the owners, and remedy the displays, free of charge. The recall began May 9, 2019. Owners may contact ASA Electronics at 1-800-384-4400.

National Fleet Services of Ohio (National Fleet) is recalling certain 2016 Ford E-450 vehicles equipped with Roush, Generation 4, Propane Conversion Kits. The fuel control valve solenoid may short circuit, shutting off the flow of propane to the engine, causing the engine to shut off.
Remedy: National Fleet will notify owners, and Roush dealers will replace the defective fuel control valve solenoid, free of charge. The recall began on April 21, 2017. Owners may contact National Fleet customer service at 1-440-903-5177, or Roush customer service at 1-800-597-6874. National Fleet's number for this recall is VR.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 E-350 and E-450 vehicles manufactured November 3, 2014, to December 10, 2015 and equipped with a 6.8L engine and an optional trailer brake controller. The trailer braking system may fail, increasing the distance needed to stop the vehicle.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began on February 19, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S01. Note: This recall supersedes 15V-710. Any vehicle previously repaired under 15V-710 will need to be repaired again.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 E-350 and E-450 vehicles manufactured November 3, 2014, to September 1, 2015, and equipped with a 6.8L engine and an optional trailer brake controller. In the affected vehicles, the trailer brake controller may not actuate the trailer brakes.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began on November 10, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S32.

The contact stated that while in the parking lot and placing the vehicle in drive, the contact tapped on the accelerator pedal, then when the brakes were applied and the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact removed her foot from the brake, and it continued to accelerate and crashed into a parked U-Haul truck. There were no reported injuries, fire, airbag deployment, or police report filed. It was unknown if there were any warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact spoke with the rental company, who reversed the vehicle without incident. The contact stated that the rental employee was not operating the vehicle the same way when the failure occurred. Driver’s side extended towing mirror (Ford e450 Class C RV) began closing back toward door while on interstate at normal speed. I rolled down window to push it back out, and the arm extension and mirror fell down out of the “elbow joint” basically hanging by the electrical cord. Was able to exit interstate. Could not reinstall it. Had to tuck into cab door and wrap a pants belt around the arm and through the hand grip inside the door in order to get home. Dealer has ordered replacement mirror ETA 4 weeks or longer

I PURCHASED THIS THOR MOTOR HOME FROM A DEALER ON 09/06/2019, USED OUR FIRST TRIP 260 MILES BOTH WAYS I HAVE FOUND A VERY DIFFICULT TIME ON KEEPING UNIT ON ROAD PROPERLY CONSTANTLY DRIFTING AND VERY FATIGUED IN DRIVING. AT CAMP SIGHT AN IDENTICAL 31W THOR 2018 OWNER STATED HE HAD SAME PROBLEM AN NEIGHBORS STATED THAT STABILIZER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A SAFETPLUS 31-140 UNIT AND NOW NO PROBLEM. HELP!!! I WOULD CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY ITEM THAT NEEDS CORRECTION. HIGHWAY 65MPH.

THE CONTACT STATED NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT STATED AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE THE VEHICLE HAS FAILED TO SHIFT FROM THE REVERSE POSITION. THE DEALER KAYSER AUTOMOTIVE GROUP (2303 WEST BELTLINE HIGHWAY, MADISON, WI 53713 (608)-271-6000) WAS CONTACTED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED AT A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,500.

IF WE KNEW THAT THE MANUFACTURER COULDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH ON THEIR PROMISE TO PROVIDE VEHICLES MEETING REQUIRED SPECIFICATION, METRO WORLDWIDE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED. WE BELIEVE THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NEGLIGENT AND IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW FOR IMPROPERLY BUILDING THE BUSES. THE DEALER, HOGLUND BUS, WAS ALSO NEGLIGENT FOR SELLING THE BUSES TO US THAT DID NOT COMPLY WITH NHTSA SAFETY STANDARDS. BOTH THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER SHOULD BEAR THE RESPONSIBILITY OF REPLACING THE BUSES AT NO CHARGE. PROBLEM IS WITH WINNEBAGO ASPECT MOTORHOME ATTACHED TO THE E 450. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE(SMOKED) LAST WEEK. THIS PROBLEM WAS COVERED BY NHTSA 16V-598. I TOOK IT TO THE WINNEBAGO FACTORY IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016 TO GET IT RETORQUED. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING. IT WAS HOOKED UP TO CAMPGROUND ELECTRIC POWER WHEN IT OCCURRED AND WAS PROTECTED BY A SURGE SUPPRESSOR.

THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER, BUT AN APPOINTMENT COULD NOT BE SCHEDULED FOR TWO WEEKS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V598000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

HAD TO ARGUE WITH CAMPLAND AND THOR TO GET THE TIRE COVERED. THIS ENDED UP COSTING ME TIME, MONEY AND LOSE OF USE. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE NEW TIRE AND PAY TO HAVE IT MOUNTED. I COMPLAINED THAT THE OTHER TIRES WERE DAMAGED FROM THE RUBBING AND LOSING AIR. THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE OTHER TIRE DAMAGED FROM THE RUBBING OF THE DAMAGED TIRE. FILED A CLAIM FOR TIRE 11-20-2015 229.79 12-3-2015 +99 MOUNT 12-3-2015 COMPLAINED TO CAMPLAND AND THOR MOTOR COACH ABOUT CAMPER LEAK AND TIRE ISSUES AGAIN LOSING AIR CAMPLAND SET TIRES TO MFG SPECS. NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT THE TIRES. TOOK RV OUT ON ANOTHER TRIP OCT 2016 CHECKED TIRE PSI UPON RETURN TRIP BECAUSE TIRES LOOKED LOW. HAD A TIRE COMPANY AIR UP THE TIRES IN ALABAMA. UPON THE RETURN TRIP HOME HAD A TIRE BLOW OUT ON THE INTERSTATE. CONTACTED CAMPLAND, FORD, MICHELIN, FORD FREEWAY FORD. I TOLD THEM I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE RV WITH BAD TIRES AND I ASKED FOR THEM TO BE REPLACED. TOOK RV TO DISCOUNT TIRE, AND THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT. TIRE HAD LESS THAN 4,000 MILES. FORD TOWED THE RV TO FREELAND FORD TO FIX THE BLOW OUT AND FIX THE REST OF THE TIRES. THE RV WAS DOWN FROM OCT 2016-JAN 10 2017. THE RESULTS WERE SLOW AND NO ONE WANTED TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE BAD TIRES LOSING AIR. EVERYONE WANTS TO KEEP POINTING FINGERS, BUT NOTHING GETS DONE. FINALLY REPLACED THE BLOWN OUT TIRE AND TIGHTENED THE VALUE STEMS. UPON TOWING THE TOWING COMPANY DID NOT LEAVE THE AXLE FREELAND HAD TO REPLACE THE AXLE FROM TOWING. HEADING BACK HOME ( LEXINGTON NC) REMOVED MY SHOES HAD ON MY DIABETIC SOCKS ON JULY 28TH, HAD BOTH AC,S ON AND IT WAS 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE. GOT HOME WIFE NOTICED SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY LEFT FOOT. WENT TO THE VA HOSPITAL AND HAD SUFFERED SECOND DEGREE BURNS ON MY HEEL AND SIDE OF MY FOOT. I AM A DIABETIC AND HAVE NEUROPATHY IN MY FEET AND DID NOT NOTICE FLOOR BOARD WAS EXTREMELY HOT, I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. MY BURN BECAME INFECTED AND DOCTOR SAID I COULD HAVE LOST MY FOOT. FOREST RIVER NEVER HAD ANY WARNINGS THE FLOOR BECOMING EXTREMELY HOT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD E-450. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE BRAKE FLUID SERVICE PERFORMED, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE RESERVOIR CAP INDICATED DOT 3 BRAKE FLUID WAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID FOR THAT VEHICLE WAS TYPE DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT SERVICED DUE TO THE CONFUSION. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT DUE TO THE TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BRAKE FLUID LABELING, IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A BRAKE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID TYPE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK WITH AN ANSWER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,400.

THOR MOTOR COACH SOLD ME A 2016 FOUR WINDS CLASS C MODEL 23U MOTOR HOME WITH A CLASS IV HITCH THAT IS NOT SAFE FOR THE STATED CAPACITY OF 8,000 POUNDS. IF THE HITCH IS USED IN THE STATED 8,000 POUND CAPACITY, THE HITCH WILL FAIL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY MAKES THE E450 CHASSIS THAT THE MOTOR HOME BODY IS MOUNTED ON. FORD STATES THAT THE TONGUE WEIGHT FOR A PROPERLY LOADED 8,000 POUND TRAILER SHOULD BE IN THE RANGE OF 800 TO 1,200 POUNDS (10% TO 15%). THOR MOTOR COACH HAS DE-RATED THE HITCH CAPACITY TO 500 POUNDS WHICH RESULTS IN A MAXIMUM SAFE HITCH RATING OF 5,000 POUNDS. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT IF I AM TO HAVE A SAFE TOW WITH AN 8,000 POUND TRAILER, I WILL NEED A MINIMUM OF 800 POUNDS ON THE HITCH WHICH MAY LEAD TO A SUBSTANTIAL AND SERIOUS MECHANICAL FAILURE. THOR MOTOR COACH ADVERTISES THE HITCH AS 8,000 POUNDS WHICH MAY DIRECTLY LEAD TO UNSAFE TOWING. I AM CONCERNED THAT MANY MOTOR HOME OWNERS WILL RELY ON THE THOR MOTOR COACH STATEMENT FOR AN 8,000 POUND HITCH AND SERIOUSLY OVERLOAD THE SUPPLIED HITCH. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT ABOUT 4,500 PEOPLE DIED IN TOWING RELATED ACCIDENTS BETWEEN 2002 AND 2012. I AM ATTACHING A PICTURE OF THE ACTUAL HITCH RATING PLATE. I RECOMMEND THAT THOR MOTOR COACH QUIT ADVERTISING THE HITCH AT 8,000 POUNDS DUE THE ACCIDENT PRONE TOWING CONDITION THIS CREATES.

HESITATION/NO POWER AFTER MAKING A TURN, PRIMARILY A LEFT-HAND BUT HAS HAPPENED ALSO AFTER A RIGHT-HAND TURN. THE ENGINE HAS NEVER STALLED OR DISPLAYED FAULT CODES OR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THE DASH. FORD HAS CHECKED FOR THIS CONDITION.
