I PURCHASED BRAND NEW, A 2001 DODGE RAM 2500 QUAD CAB TRUCK. THE TRUCKS DASH HAS SO MANY CRACKS IN IT, THAT THEY NOW HAVE RAN INTO EACH OTHER AND LARGE AREAS HAVE FALLEN OUT. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT DODGE REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. THESE CRACKS HAVE BEEN IN MY DASH FOR YEARS. IT IS NOT HEAT RELATED BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK IN WASHINGTON STATE AND WAS THERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE COMING TO CALIFORNIA. THE DEALER TRIED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME THE BRAKES WILL FAIL AGAIN. DT: WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL THE BRAKES WENT OUT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET IT SAFELY OFF THE HIGHWAY. THIS OCCURRED ON AUGUST 15, 2005. THE CONTACT TOOK VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE WAY THAT THE VAN WAS BUILT. HE SAID THAT IT CAUSED THE BATTERY TO LEAK AND BURN A WHOLE IN THE BRAKE LINE. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE MECHANIC'S SHOP. DT: THE AIR BAGS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2005. CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, THERE WAS NO FOREWARNING , AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WAS NOT ON PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THIS WAS A FRONTAL IMPACT, IT TOTALED BOTH VEHICLES INVOLVED. *AK
