THIS VAN HAS A FACTORY INSTALLED FLOOR MOUNTED SPARE TIRE UNDER THE REAR MOST SEAT. DURING A HEAD-ON COLLISION, THE SPARE TIRE SLID FORWARD AND BECAME A DEADLY PROJECTILE. THE TIRE ROCKETED FORWARD AND CRUSHED A PASSENGER'S LOWER LEFT LEG, INSTANTLY SNAPPING THE BONES INTO SPLINTERS AGAINST THE SET IN FRONT OF HIM. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, THE PASSENGER WAS PINNED INSIDE THE VAN BY THE SPARE TIRE.
