2019 DODGE CHALLENGER

The factory-installed Uconnect infotainment system in my 2019 Dodge Challenger intermittently malfunctions by remaining stuck on the rearview camera display after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse and into drive or park. The rearview camera image does not disengage as designed and continues to display randomly during normal forward driving. This appears to be a failure of the Uconnect radio/software system rather than the camera itself. The issue occurs unpredictably and has happened multiple times without warning. Restarting the vehicle is sometimes required to restore normal screen function. This malfunction creates a safety hazard because the display obstructs access to navigation, climate controls, and other critical vehicle information while driving forward, causing driver distraction and reduced situational awareness. Backup cameras are federally mandated safety equipment, and failure of the system to disengage properly interferes with safe vehicle operation. Additionally, I am medically light-sensitive due to chronic migraines. When the rearview camera display remains active unexpectedly, the bright and high-contrast screen significantly worsens my symptoms, increasing pain, visual discomfort, and distraction while driving. This exacerbates the safety risk and makes the malfunction an extreme concern for me during vehicle operation. No warning lights or messages appear prior to or during the malfunction. The problem has not yet been repaired. The vehicle and system remain available for inspection upon request. This failure mode matches known Dodge/Stellantis rearview camera and Uconnect software defects reported on similar model-year vehicles, although my VIN is not currently included in an active recall.

Keypad would not work to unlock the door. I had to climb into the car from the passenger side of the vehicle because the driver's side door was locking me out of the car. Batteries in keypads were replaced. Driver's side door was locking me inside of the car. I was forced to climb over the center console to get out of the car through the passenger side. The westbury service department blew my alternator servicing while replacing the radiator and fixing the electrical issue with Uconnect. The driver's side window would not roll down. I complained that the heat would turn on randomly inside of the vehicle. My headlights stopped working twice and my light bulbs were replaced although the bulbs were good. My mileage time ometer keeps jumping from 56000 to 68000 time belt. My car is fairly new. This vehicle should not be doing this. The break I use to start the car nearly starts it. The breaks is not connected to the fuel pump correctly.

I leased this car there purchased it. Never had any accident or anything in that sort. However my car start to make this metal noise when I am driving which is super loud. I took it to the dealership but they said it's not serious without doing a thorough check up. they said it's just a sound that those type cars make and it replace the metal part it cost about 10k or something like that. I never heard this sound in any type of car. The sound is very loud and I don't feel safe driving my car. Something is off and the metal sound is constant. like 2 pieces of metal rubbing into each other and they're about to break.

The vehicle's Uconnect system (which is required for most all functions including backup camera) will intermittently go black and become unresponsive. Soft and hard resets do not resolve it at first. Hard reset eventually resulted in a generic screen with numerous functions missing. Eventually after several hours the correct screen restored itself. This happens intermittently and there are hundreds of reports of this online (search for Uconnect screen black).

The sound does not happen every time, but it has happened well over 100 times. I have taken it into the dealership, and they claim that the sound can never be duplicated. Have had several dodge chargers and challengers and oil cooler fails too soon I believe way to expensive to fix so soon in my opinion all it takes is for someone to over torque the oil filter cap during oil changes so many times and I believe starts the problem not including how cheap looking the oil cooler seems currently have a 2019 challenger sxt awd and just noticed oil resting in the valley of the oil cooler here we go again same problem over and over again

The tire snapped off and was not locatable. I filed a police report and called the police at time of incident. The total damage on the vehicle was under $3,000 but because the tire snapped off and damaged the firewall Dodge stated that the vehicle had to be a total loss. This was a 2019 challenger there should be no reason for a wheel to snap off like such. On my way to work on 9/28/23 my 2019 dodge challenger hellcat Redeye engine just shut off at 65mph. I was in the left lane by the wall on I45 heading northbound. I instantly had a loss of power steering and braking. The engine just shut off. A check engine light came on and the dash said shift I to park to start. I was successfully able to get across 4 lanes of traffic to stop on the apron between o ram and side of freeway. When I shifted to park and to try to restart it would not start. Had to be towed to dealership where upon inspection they said the motor was locked. When broken down a valve just dropped into the cylinder and jammed into the piston and cylinder wall. Pieces also damaged the head and the supercharger and dealer says starter is fried. Mopar is digging in and acting like this isn’t an issue but online there are several class actions and forums about defective valve system in these engines. Had I been a novice driver or my wife with children jn the car she would likely not been able to get off to a safe place and stalled dead in the fast lane of a very busy Houston roadway.

I was rear ended while traveling eastbound on US 175 ( C F Hawn Fwy ). When I was hit the impact pushed me alittle ways. The other driver was going pretty fast because I was hit hard enough to where the trunk of the car was pushed into the back seat of the car. After being able to get out of the car. I noticed that the airbags didn't deploy. The seat belt did lock up but the airbags did not come out.

Power steering/rack and pinion. Yes. Power steering cuts in and out around corners and sometimes completely locking steering wheel with no control. When steering wheel locks up it’s you to lose control of car and could cause head on collision. Yes I had dodge dealship diagnose and also independent mechanic. Manufacturer has not inspected. There were no warnings or any warning lights in car. Problem started about 3 months ago.

The power steering or steering rack appears to be defective. While turning on a curve, the steering will get stuck in what feels like a knotch, and can be weird to un-stick from that knotch. Can maybe cause unstable feeling in steering.

After I bought the vehicle later I realized the light don’t come on from my steering wheel Air bag. So I took it to the dealership and they told me my air bags doesn’t work.

Was getting on freeway and hit the gas to accelerate and get ahead of the traffic. The Challenger would not accelerate fast (has a hemi) and car almost flew into me. I brought it in to one shop and they said its probably a software update and to take it to Dodge and it should be free. Dodge told me it's probably not software, kept my car for 5 days and told me it was a software update and that they updated it for free but still charged me $175 for the "diagnosis" when I told them exactly what the issue was. And now that I got it back, it gets stuck in reverse, you have to turn the vehcile off and wait and start it again then it works. At a red light turn yesterday, it wouldn't drive forward and the "D" for drive started flashing.

the lower control arm and lower ball joint broke causing me to hit another vehicle ,plus had to be towed due to damage , highway patrol called and took a report, was inspected my insurance adjuster after the accident this part would have broke while driving and caused more damage or injuries to me or my wife, the rack and pinion still needs to be replaced and is on back order until further notice no date given when it will be in by the dealership

The contact mentioned that there was an abnormal rubbing sound coming from the tires while turning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the inside of the front driver’s side tire was worn. The tire was the original tire. The tire was replaced however, a few months later the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front passenger’s side tire needed to be replaced from also being worn. The tire was replaced but a few weeks later the failure recurred. The failure recurred multiple times and only the front tires were replaced after each failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

Key Fob to start vehicle ran out of battery, I then replaced the battery from a nearby CVS Store and the Key Fob is still not working and my car will not start due to my key fob not being detected.

I bought this certified pre-owned vehicle from a local FCA/Dodge dealer on 10/09/2021. The vehicle began exhibiting erratic and dangerous steering behavior, so I brought it to the dealer on 10/26/2021.The dealer was able to reproduce the erratic behavior. They replaced the electronic power steering gear, the rack and pinion gear, inspected the entire vehicle and did not find anything else wrong, see attached service order. However, the steering continues to be erratic and the vehicle cannot be safely controlled. I notified the dealer of the continuing issues, but they said the could not do anything else to remedy the problem.
