Incident date: Mar 28, 2026
While driving on the highway there was a random harsh jerk on my car, and I was immediately unable to maintain safe speeds driving nearly causing a serious crash. All of the service lights (Service Parking Assist, Service Power Steering, Service StabiliTrak, and Check Engine Light) should up on the
... dashboard. Trying to engage the vehicle into drive after parked had a harsh jerk shifting into gear and the accelerator was not working properly (going extremely slower than applied pressure). Mobile mechanic reader coded my vehicle with U0101 “Lost Communication with TCM”. After touching that TCM connection all of the service lights randomly turned back off, and the vehicle drove (temporarily) normal. No repairs were performed due to possible recall concerns.Read more

Possible malfunction involves vehicle speed control and braking during a low-speed parking maneuver in my 2024 Lexus NX350h. While slowly pulling into a parking space, I was actively applying the brake and creeping forward. While my foot was on the brake, the vehicle suddenly surged/accelerated forw
... ard instead of continuing to decelerate. The vehicle ran over a sign and jumped a curb before I could stop it. The vehicle is available for inspection and is currently with the Lexus dealer. My safety and the safety of others were put at serious risk because this occurred unexpectedly while parking. If a pedestrian, fixed structure, or another vehicle had been in front of me, this could have caused severe injury or worse. Thankfully, I was not physically injured, but this was a traumatic event, and I was terrified. The problem has not been reproduced by me after the incident. At the time of this report, it has not yet been confirmed by the dealer or an independent repair facility. I have requested a full diagnostic inspection and review of all available stored data before any codes are cleared. The vehicle has been delivered to the Lexus dealer for inspection. The incident was also immediately reported to my insurance company. I do not know if Lexus manufacturer representatives or other parties will inspect it. I did not observe any warning lamps, messages, or unusual symptoms before the event, and this had never happened before.Read more

I bought a used 2019 Ford Ecosport SE in January 2022. I received a recall notice (#23S64: “ENGINE OIL PUMP BELT AND TENSIONER REPLACEMENT FINAL REPAIR”). A paper notice I received from Ford dated June 2024 mentioned a remedy expected in Q1 2025. The estimation was pushed back, and parts were e
... ventually ready in Q3, some time in August. Before I could take my vehicle to a dealership, on [XXX], while driving my vehicle it stalled, smoked, and smoldered. I made no collisions with any other object, person, or vehicle. I called my insurance and the fire department (incident number: [XXX]). I believe the damage was related to the recall. It was described to me that there was even damage to some wiring, as a result of the fire. I called my insurance, and they towed my vehicle to Larry H. Miller Ford Dealership on September 30, 2025. It was scheduled for its first service on October 1, 2025, but technicians inspected it on October 16, 2025. The repair cost exceeded the vehicle’s value, as I needed a new engine and transmission. After long periods without progress and updates, on January 7th, I was informed by the dealership that I’d either be paid or my vehicle would be repaired, but the final decision rested with Ford Motor Company. The dealership had submitted everything, as a service manager with Larry H. Miller told me on January 7, 2026. I called Ford Motor Company and asked for specific repair dates, but I received no more information than from the dealership. I was told by the dealership that I should have an answer on repairs “by the end of the week”on January 26, 2026, but it’s now February 3, 2026. I’ve been without a vehicle for four months, impacting my flexibility and affecting my vehicle loan. I accepted a loaner vehicle on January 7, 2026. I seek a prompt and fair resolution, whether it’s a payment or a repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Vehicle Safety Incident & Recall Case Summary In approximately October 2025, while my son was driving the vehicle on Highway 85 at approximately 70 mph, the car suddenly shut off and lost power without warning. He was able to safely pull over to the side of the road and had to restart the vehicle i
... n order to continue driving. At the time of this incident, the vehicle had only a few thousand miles. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about my son’s safety, particularly given that this power loss occurred at highway speeds without warning. Shortly after this incident, I personally experienced a separate failure while driving the vehicle, during which the car would not accelerate as expected. This created an additional and serious safety concern during normal driving conditions. We brought the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership for evaluation. The dealership informed us that this issue was associated with a known recall and advised that there was no available fix or remedy at that time. In addition to this recall, the vehicle is subject to two other active safety recalls, both of which also lack available repairs: A recall involving sand or debris in the engine, which may impact engine performance and long-term reliability. A recall involving the high-voltage battery, for which we have since received additional notices advising us not to charge the vehicle and not to park it inside or near structures due to a fire risk. There is currently no fix available for this defect. We selected this vehicle specifically as an electric vehicle, in part because it was intended to be charged and used safely at home and to avoid the ongoing cost of gasoline. The current instructions not to charge the vehicle and to avoid parking it inside or near structures eliminate the vehicle’s intended purpose and expected use. Because of the loss of power at highway speeds, the failure to accelerate, the ongoing safety concerns, and the existence of multiple unresolved safety recalRead more

I purchased this vehicle brand new is 2021 with the 6.2 liter engine. I have had all the regular maintenance performed as scheduled with 90% being done at a Chevrolet dealership. My truck has around 90,000 miles on it and now the engine is out. It started with showing low oil at 50% oil life left. W
... hen I took it to have it checked, it was 3 quarts low on oil. I did another oil change and was told I had to start an oil consumption test in order for them to review the issue. I had it checked every 1000 miles. The first and second check was fine. The third check was one quart low. They took it in and found that the spark plugs were oil fowled. Upon further investigation, they found that the cylinder walls were scored and had oil bypass in the cylinders. I have done everything right with this truck. Took care of it in all the ways I was supposed to. There is no reason what so ever for the engine to have gone out at 90,000 miles. There has to be more to this. I have looked it up and other people are having the same issue with the same engine. Why is nothing being done about this?Read more

Fuel level sensor failure. I haven't checked but I don't think a regular dealer would inspect for free because it's inside of the gas tank. The gas gauge gets stuck at around a quarter of a tank leading a sensible person to assume their is gas in the vehicle. This is a safety risk because your vehi
... cle can stall in the middle of the road as it did in my case. You lose the ability to steer the vehicle and put other vehicles behind you or around you at risk. The problem has been reproduced by me when comparing the range for my vehicle (396 miles on a full tank) then resetting the trip after filling up. I then drove the vehicle across a couple weeks and the trip said I was at 335 miles and the range said 96 miles, which is an overestimate from the predicted range when filling up. I drove another 30 miles for work in the same day and the gas guage seemed to be in the exact same spot as it was earlier (and when I was stalled the time before) and my predicted range actually went up to 102 (pictures to prove all of this upon request.) And at 365 miles, it would be impossible fir my car to reach another 100 plus miles in range. My gas tank holds 15.6 miles and my average fuel economy was 25.5. When I filled the gas tank up after this trip, it put 14.7 gallons in which means I had .9 of a gallon. 25.5 × .9 is roughly 23 miles. Completely way off from the "predicted 100" it said before I filled up. Personal dealers have been completely unaware and I'm afraid to take it to a dealer in the event they try to charge me for it. No. No, there is no warning light and no check engine light. Gauge and light check works properly when vehicle is started and it runs the quick diagnostic by maxing out the gauges and turning on all of the dash lights.Read more
