Full Narrative

On April 16,2013, about 1235 UTC, an Aero Mexico B767-200, registration XA-TOJ, operated as flight 071 from Madrid-Barajas International Airport, Madrid, Spain, to Benito Juarez International Airport, Mexico City, Mexico, experienced a tail strike while departing from runway 36L in Madrid, Spain. The airplane incurred substantial damage. Two flight attendants received minor injuries, and none of the remaining crewmembers or passengers were injured.
