On February 12, 2013, at about 1414 Universal Time Coordinated, a Cessna 172S, Turkish registration TC-CDA, operated by the Turkish Aeronautical Association, impacted terrain during an instructional flight, near Mersin, Turkey. The flight instructor was fatally injured and the student pilot was seriously injured.

The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Civil Aviation, Republic of Turkey.
