The pilot’s inadequate flare, which resulted in a hard nosewheel landing.

Full Narrative

The pilot had just completed a local flight with two passengers. The pilot reported that windy flight conditions existed, but there would not be a crosswind during the landing. He added that the airplane landed hard on the nose wheel, the airplane bounced, and then settled onto the runway. Post flight examination of the airplane revealed that the nosewheel landing gear and propeller were bent, and the firewall sustained substantial damage.
