Full Narrative
On September 11, 2012 at about 1109 China Standard Time (0309 UTC), a Boeing 747-8F, registration VQ-BLR, equipped with GEnx-2B engines and operated by Air Bridge Cargo Airlines, experienced an engine failure and subsequently rejected takeoff at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai, China. The aircraft was being operated as a cargo flight and there were no injuries to the two crewmembers on board.
The incident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the state of manufacture for the aircraft and engines.
