Full Narrative

On 5 July, 2012, at approximately 1100 UTC, a SunExpress Deutschland B737-800, registration D-ASXE, encountered turbulence during cruise between Gaziantep, Turkey, and Frankfurt, Germany. Of the 86 passengers and crew onboard, one crew member received serious injuries and the airplane was not damaged.

The investigation is being conducted by German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Investigation (BFU). The NTSB has appointed an Accredited Representative to assist the investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the State of Manufacture and Design of the airplane.
