Full Narrative
On January 7, 2012, at about 1905 local time, a Boeing 737-8AS, registration EI-DHI, serial # 33818, operated by Ryanair, experienced a failure of the No. 2 pitot heater, without any associated warnings, leading to multiple failure indications. The flight was en route from East Midlands, UK, and Riga Airport, Latvia. There were no injuries and no damage to the airplane. The incident investigation was delgated to the AAIU by the TAAIB of Latvia.
The incident is being investigated by the AAIU of Ireland. The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative as the state of manufacture of the airframe under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13. All inquiries should be directed to AAIU at the following:
