Probable Cause
The student pilot’s hard landing and subsequent loss of directional control.
Full Narrative
The student pilot, on this fourth solo flight, was landing a tailwheel-equipped airplane. During the landing, the student pilot landed hard and was unable to recover from the bounced landing. The airplane’s right wing impacted the runway and the airplane subsequently ground looped. During the accident, the airplane’s fuselage and right wing sustained substantial damage. An examination of the airplane following the accident revealed no pre-impact anomalies with the airplane.
