Probable Cause

The pilot's improper landing flare.

Full Narrative

The pilot stated that the accident occurred during his 5th touch-and-go landing. While on final approach, he reduced power and the airplane "...suddenly dropped down leading to [a] hard landing...." He taxied to the ramp where he secured the airplane. During his walk around, he noticed damage to the propeller and contacted his flight instructor.

Examination of the airplane by a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airworthiness inspector revealed damage to the firewall, belly, and cockpit floor.
