Full Narrative
On September 10, 2011, at about 1842 local time, a Shanghai Airlines B737-800, registration #B-5088, ran off the side of runway 27 at Phuket International Airport (HKT), Phuket, Thailand, and was able to turn back onto the runway. The aircraft sustained minor damage and there were no injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee (AAIC) of Thailand. The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative as the state of manufacture under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13.
