Probable Cause
The pilot's improper use of brakes which resulted in a nose over.
Full Narrative
The pilot reported that the tailwheel-equipped airplane was slowing down during the landing roll when he applied the brakes and the airplane nosed over on the runway. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the empennage. The pilot reported that there was no mechanical malfunction or failure of the airplane.
