On January 21, 2011, about 0049 universal coordinated time, two Cessna 172 airplanes, Korean registered HL1080 and HL1127, operated by the Korea Aerospace University and Hanseo University respectively, sustained substantial damage following a midair collision and subsequent impact with terrain. The two solo student pilots operating the airplanes were fatally injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident.
