On July 22, 2010, at 0937 UTC, a China Airlines Boeing 737-800, registered in the People's Republic of China as B-18612, experienced a depressurization while enroute to Hiroshima, Japan.

The event is being investigated by the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) of of Taiwan. The NTSB designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to the ASC investigation under the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13 as the state of manufacture of the airplane.
