Full Narrative

On June 11, 2010, a Boeing 747-400F, registered JA01KZ, operated by Nippon Cargo Airlines Co., Ltd., took off from Narita International airport at 21:53 Japan Standard Time. Just after the take-off, the No. 1 engine (left), a General Electric CF6-80C2B1F turbofan, was shut down due to vibration. The airplane returned to the airport for an uneventful landing at about 23:08. All three persons on board were not injured.

On June 14, 2010, after No.1 engine was removed from the aircraft, an inspection revealed that turbine blades of the engine were seriously damaged.
