Full Narrative
On April 13, 2010, a Merpati Airlines B737-300, Indonesian registration PK-MDE, overran runway 17 upon landing at Rendani airport, Manokwari, West Papua, Indonesia. Weather was reported as heavy rain. The airplane was substantially damaged and there were 20 injuries.
This accident is being investigated by the Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC). The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to the NTSC's investigation in accordance with the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13 as the state of manufacture of the airplane.
