Full Narrative

On August 14, 2009, at 1805 coordinated universal time a Beechcraft 99, registered F-BTME, was destroyed when it impacted a building during a go-around near Évora, Portugal. A post impact fire ensued. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The pilot and one passenger were fatally injured. The flight originated from Évora, Portugal.

According to the Portuguese government, the accident airplane was conducting skydiving operations when the left engine experienced a loss of engine power. The airplane returned uneventfully to the airport; however, during the approach, the pilot elected to perform a go-around. During the go-around the airplane turned to the left and collided with a building.
