Full Narrative
On March 12, 2025, at 1300 eastern daylight time, a Piper PA-28-181, N3055B, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Hollywood, Florida. The flight instructor was not injured, and the student pilot sustained minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight.
The flight instructor reported that during the initial climb, the engine lost power. He conducted a forced landing in a field, where the airplane collided with a tree. Federal Aviation Administration inspectors responded to the accident site and examined the wreckage. The airplane came to rest upright in the field. Substantial damage was noted to the right wing.
The wreckage was recovered for further examination.
