The pilot reported that he was departing Sunriver Airport (S21), Sunriver, Oregon, for a cross-country flight to Crater Lake/ Klamath Region Airport (LMT), Klamath Falls, Oregon. Prior to takeoff, the pilot had an electrical system warning, and returned to the ramp, shut down the engine, and inspected the electrical system. After restarting the engine, the pilot observed no electrical system malfunctions and proceeded with the takeoff on runway 21. About 15 minutes after departure, the electrical system failed which was followed by the engine's complete loss of power. The pilot elected initiate a forced landing to a road. While on approach to the road, the airplane collided with trees and landed short of the road, resulting in substantial damage to the right wing.
