Full Narrative

On March 1, 2009, at 1623 universal coordinated time (1153 local time), a Beech 100, VY-2129, operated by Command Air C.A., was destroyed when it impacted mountainous terrain near San Miguel, Trujillo, Venezuela. The two pilots and four passengers, all Venezuelan citizens, were fatally injured. Instrument meteorological conditions prevailed. The flight was operating on a visual flight rules flight plan from Oscar Machado Zuloaga Airport (SVCS), Charallave, Miranda, to Dr. Antonio Nicolas Briceno Airport (SVVL), Valera, Trujillo. The airplane was operating under Venezuelan flight regulations.

Preliminary information indicated that the airplane impacted terrain at 9,300 feet, 22 nautical miles east of the destination airport.
