Full Narrative
On November 6, 2019, about 1740 coordinated universal time, a Cessna 172L, South African registration ZS-DAC, was enroute to the VOR beacon GAV, near Vereeniging, and reported a loss of engine power. The pilot forced landed the airplane in a field. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is investigating the incident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane and engine, the NTSB has designated an US accredited representative to assist the SACAA in its investigation.
