Full Narrative

On September 15, 2019, while in flight at approximately 5 miles northwest of Lahore, Pakistan, the pilot of a Pakistani International Airlines Boeing 777-200ER, registration AP-BGK, powered by two General Electric GE90 turbofan engines, initiated a Mayday call, reporting a right hand engine fire and requested to return to Lahore airport. It was reported that the airplane landed safely with no injuries reported. It was later reported that only the engine starter was damaged.The investigation is being conducted by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).
