Probable Cause
The pilot's overapplication of the brakes during landing on a grass runway, which resulted in a nose-over.
Full Narrative
The pilot of a tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that, while landing on a grass runway, he applied the brakes and retracted the flaps, and the airplane nosed over.
The airplane sustained substantial damaged to the left wing and vertical stabilizer.
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
