Event Location
Probable Cause
The pilot’s overapplication of the brakes during the landing roll, which resulted in a nose-over.
Full Narrative
The pilot of the tailwheel-equipped airplane reported that, during the landing roll on a downhill off-airport grass landing site, he over applied the brakes and the airplane nosed over. Subsequently, the airplane came to rest inverted.
The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and empennage.
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
